Celebrating its tenth year in 2017, the Raceday has become a popular fixture on the Gold Coast social calendar. Due to the popularity of the fundraiser, the event will move to the Gold Coast Turf Club’s Event Centre this year. Spearheaded by founder and two-time breast cancer survivor, Robyn Cameron, the raceday is aiming to raise a record breaking $100,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation this year, with the help of the newly announced Ambassadors. Robyn Cameron said, “We are thrilled Charli and Jake have agreed to join us for our tenth anniversary. Both are passionate about the Gold Coast and helping us raise vital funds for the NBCF. Jake also epitomises the impact a breast cancer diagnosis can have on the family. Not only the sons who have had their mother diagnosed with breast cancer, but all males who’ve had a loved one impacted by breast cancer.” Charli Robinson, “I’m a really proud Gold Coaster and the PRC raceday is such an iconic local event. I was so honoured to be asked to be an Ambassador, and look forward to helping to grow the event and raise funds to support the lifesaving research of the NBCF,” she said. Jake Ellis, explains his involvement, “My family has been deeply affected by this disease. Everyone has fought or is fighting some kind of battle in their life, everyone has a journey and a story to go with it. This is the reason I'm so passionate about sharing my family's story. “My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer for the first time 23 years ago and has been battling several forms of cancer ever since and is again today. I am unbelievably excited to be a part of this special day and even more so honoured to be the first Ambassador for such an amazing event and cause. The money raised directly helps the National Breast Cancer Foundation raise vital funds for research to help save lives," commented Jake. Race-goers can expect more for the tenth anniversary this year, as Robyn continues. “We are looking forward to taking over the Event Centre on Saturday 23rd September. We have lots of activities, more sponsors and bigger, better prizes to be won. We are also thrilled to welcome back Birkbecks as our naming rights sponsor for the second year. They will once again donate a spectacular piece for us to raffle. “And of course, the Gold Coast Turf Club are generously offering free main gate entry with a gold coin donation to anyone wearing pink,” Robyn concluded. There are limited opportunities remaining to partner with the Pink Ribbon Cup and a limited number of tickets (including Premium Tables with unlimited Pink Moet & Chandon) for the fundraising function are still available.
